Age Uk are looking for a Club Supervisor
Based at Douglas Tilbe House in Welwyn Garden City
21 hours per week to be worked Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
£10,500 per annum (FTE £17,500)
The main purpose of this post is to manage the Douglas Tilbe Club and provide a wide range of activities and services to clients. Previous experience of delivering services to the community is essential, in addition to excellent communication and creative skills. A key part of this role is to provide supervision to staff and volunteers at the club; therefore previous supervisory experience is also required. FREE – Training

Cherry Tree Housing Association is offering FREE mental health training. These courses are aimed at anyone who is in contact with people who are experiencing mental ill-health. Course attendees could be individuals, relatives, carers, employers, members of local community or faith groups, workers: in short, anyone who has concerns about mental health issues. The courses are targeted at rural areas, as research shows that these are often areas of deprivation, isolation and lack of access to services. To find out more click here

Heritage Lottery Fund launches £1m small grants programme

This programme will support charities, community groups and heritage organisations running local history projects. The All Our Stories initiative will give grants worth between £3,000 and £10,000 to groups that explore local history. Second Round of Village SOS

Rural villages across the UK are being offered grants of up to £50,000 to breathe new life into their areas as part of a £4m Lottery funding pot. Application forms for the funding can be download from 10 April. The new funding comes as the Big Lottery Fund announced 62 community projects across the UK to be offered grants through the first round of the Village SOS scheme. Give it Back, George campaign

Now has the backing of hundreds of organisations. It was launched in response to the cap on income tax reliefs announced in the Budget that will discourage major gifts from philanthropists, something that so many charities both large and small depend on. The campaign is calling on the Chancellor to reverse his decision and exempt charitable donations from the plans to cap personal tax reliefs. For more information, click here.
