Postcode Trust - Prepare Early for Success in the Autumn

The People's Postcode Trust aims to make the UK a better place for both people and nature. The Trust wants to make a real difference to small organisations and community groups through grants ranging from £500- £10,000. Applications for projects in England open on Monday 11 October. Funding is available for 3-month projects running from January to March 2011, ranging from £500 up to £10,000.

The Trust acts within six fields of operation:

  • Poverty Prevention
  • Advancement of Health (not research)
  • Community Development
  • Public Sports
  • Human Rights
  • Environmental Protection

As the fifth charity partner of the Lottery, the People's Postcode Trust distributes funds to small organisations, community groups and registered charities. If you are a registered charity, you can apply for up to £10,000. If you do not have a registered charity number, you can apply for up to £2,000.

Community Wildlife Fund Opens

Community Wildlife will fund projects that bring local people together to discover, enjoy or protect the wildlife in their local area. The programme will fund between £300 and £10,000 for projects that improve rural or urban environments for people to enjoy, for example by:

• Protecting wildlife habitats
• Creating a nature trail, woodland walk or wildlife garden for people to enjoy
• Improving natural community spaces, such as rivers, ponds and woodlands.
• Getting people more active and healthier, for example by:
• Exploring parks, rivers and the countryside to look for rare or endangered species
• Encouraging people to take up gardening or go on nature walks
• Providing opportunities for children to learn about nature through play.


The programme will have three rounds:
21 July
22 Septmeber
24 November
